Punxsutawney Phil woke up on Monday, Feb. 2nd and saw his shadow. According to legend, it means we are destined for six more weeks of winter. That’s some good news for winter sports enthusiasts. The Whitefish Mountain Resort (Big Mountain to us old-timers) continues to be “swamped” with visitors taking advantage of the winter recreational activities featured up there and Ptarmigan Village is also busy with owners, owner’s guests, and rental guests.

Although it’s been unseasonable warm and with a dearth of snow recently, according to Phil, there are six more weeks of winter, and winter weather brings a host of safety issues, including driving and parking difficulties and dangerous walking conditions throughout the Village and surrounding communities. So be careful out there.

 

Spearheaded by the Board of Directors (“BOD”) Secretary, Angela Sanders, in conjunction with management and staff, a new Ptarmigan website will be coming our way soon. Angela, Corey and Wes will provide an update during open session of the upcoming BOD Meeting on February 17th.

Safety Checks
If you would like your home to be checked while you are away, the village offers safety checks for $30. We strongly recommend that all units be inspected at least every 30 days, particularly during the winter months.
